Project Location
East side of High Street from Arden Drive to Hunter Avenue.
Project Description
Project scope includes construction of a multiuse path and modernization of the two existing traffic signals within the project limits.
It is likely that this project will be split into two phases. The area including and south of Hunter Avenue would proceed as a federally funded project, with construction expected in 2026. The area north of Hunter Avenue may be a separate project phase with a timeline dependent on the referenced studies.
The engineering design consultant for this project is Butler, Fairman & Seufert, Inc.
The project is included in the Bloomington/Monroe County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP).
Project Status
The project has been prioritized by the MPO for federal funding to support both design and construction, and was approved by City Council to be prioritized for funding in the 2022 public works general obligation bond ordinance.

ROW Acquisition: 2024
Construction: estimated begin 2026
